It's Getting Close To Clayton Time!
One of our favorite pilgrimage is to Clayton in July for the annual big show and Auction put on by Antique Boat America.. I know I go on and on about this event. But it is really a fun weekend. Warning.. the hotels are not all that great... Sorry.. they not.. They are worn out and dirty, but for me and my pal Krunch.. who cares, it's a notch up from sleeping in the car... I recommend finding a home to rent or stay out of town and drive in early. The Wellesley Hotel in TI Park is the real real real deal and very nice. But no modern stuff. But it is very nice. but in the end it's all about the boats, the event, and seeing buddies from all over the country. It's like Mt Dora, Tahoe, Hessel, and some other shows that gather folks from a long ways to see the local boats that you can only see in that place. There are some killer boats that have never left the water there in the Thousand Islands. So mark it down. It's the weekend of July 31st.. And bring money... Cause you will be towing a boat home for sure.

Does that mean you'll be bringing goodies from the "Back Door Bakeshop" to the show? I'll put in an order for one of those pizzas and a fresh baguette.
